She studied Biological Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where she obtained her PhD under the supervision of her colleague, the illustrious Galician mycologist Luis Freire (1914-1997).<\/p>\n<p>She was a lecturer and researcher at the University of Vigo for 31 years, where she co-founded the <em>start-up MycoGalicia Plantae<\/em>, which focuses on sustainable forestry and mycobotanical dissemination.<\/p>\n<p>She is the founder of the \u2018Grupo Micol\u00f3gico Galego Luis Freire\u2019 (Luis Freire Galician Mycological Group) and the scientific journal <em>Mykes<\/em>, published in the Galician language.<\/p>\n<p>She is a mycologist with a PhD in biological sciences with a thesis related to mushrooms, and for more than 30 years she was a professor at the University of Vigo, where she taught botany and supervised almost a dozen doctoral theses. The novel is a journey through her life, from her birth in the era of ration cards to the arrival of democracy in her youth.
