Vino tinto Pobre Tolo Mencía is a young red wine from Lugo made in the Bodega Ribada located in San Fiz (Chantada, Lugo).
It has a very intense, vivid and bright cherry red colour, with a bluish rim and long, persistent tears that reveal its glyceric character and structure in the glass.
The nose is fine and elegant, gaining intensity as it breathes. Aromas of very ripe fruit such as cherry, plum and blackberry stand out, with a subtle but persistent expression that invites you to continue discovering it.
On the palate, it is a wine with intense structure, with sweet, meaty and ripe tannins that are very well integrated. Its astringency is pleasant and balanced, leaving a long persistence and an intense, varietal aftertaste, faithful to the Mencía grape.
A perfect wine for those looking for Galician wines with personality, ideal for accompanying meats, cured cheeses, traditional dishes or simply for leisurely enjoyment.

Description
Bodega Ribada was founded in 2005, although the family tradition goes back several generations. With great care and attention to detail, they dedicate the time necessary to obtain the best fruit and thus obtain the best wine.
The vineyards of Bodega Ribada belong to the Ribeira Sacra D.O (Chantada subzone). Here the vines are grown on stairs, with slopes of up to 80%. These vineyards are classified as ‘mountain’ vineyards. The work is manual, every task in the vineyard has to be done by hand because mechanisation is impossible.

Elaboration:
- Normal harvest in boxes. Malolactic fermentation at 25ºC followed by alcoholic fermentation, racking and the wine is kept without further racking until clarification and bottling in March.
